We, the undersigned, support the effort of the Arizona Democratic Reform Group. The main objectives of the Reform Group will be to promote inclusiveness, better communications both up and down party hierarchy, and accountability. To accomplish these goals, the party organization must include ADP officers and county chairs in the involvement of ADP strategic planning. Also County Chairs and ADP officers should be consulted in hiring (or firing) field directors or staff in their areas. The ADP staff should have position descriptions and attend leadership training. Needed structural changes should include better two-way communications and evaluate new technology to enhance better communications. Other reform is needed to improve and advance the values of the Democratic Party by strong messaging, but should consider regional points of view. ADP should support a 30-15-8 strategy to compete in every part of Arizona. More opportunity should be given to candidates, at all levels, for training and preparation for a public office race. By improving these key elements, the Arizona Democratic Party will be better prepared in 2010.

I have been hearing from so many of you about how important these structural changes are for our future in Arizona. It is truly humbling to see such a dedicated group coming together to push for real accountability and better communication.

The party structure is so outdated. No one at the top listens to the people on the ground in the counties. Fix this mess.
