The United States adoption laws need to be changed to include adoption deception and fraud clauses. These new laws will assist prosecutors and law enforcement agencies to win convictions against these scammers that prey on families trying to adopt. Whether the crimes they are committing involves pretending to be pregnant or no intention to adopt; in order for them to obtain money under false pretences. If a person/s is caught conducting an adoption scam they should be held accountable. Punishable by jail time and made to pay restitution to the victims of their scam.
