Missouri needs to recognise Dyslexia as an educational deveolpemental delay. Too many children are being passed up by teachers and denied a proper education because of Dyslexia. Decoding Dyslexia will increase the education of many of our children.

Please consider helping our students with these needs. We must cultivate the value of each student regardless of the way they need to learn to succeed.

Approximately 20% of the population is affected by dyslexia. There are proven ways to effectively teach them reading and spelling. These are bright, creative students who deserve a chance to succeed. Instead of being frustrated that 1/5 aren't doing well in the current system, let's promote professional and parental education and implement research-based intervention to level the playing field. The world needs what these kids have to offer, but if they cannot succeed in school, we may never see them reach their potential. Thank you!

Please help us with early intervention- my hubby who is 36, is a very smart hardworking msn. I have seen him suffer daily because of his disorder and he has trouble reading to our 1st grader..the struggle is real and people who have so much to give are locked from their true potential shining on our society because of the lack of early intervention!!!

It would be so helpful if the teachers could be educated with the signs of dyslexia. I was told by school staff my child wasn't dyslexic in 1st grade finally now in 4th grade he is getting the help he needs for dyslexia from someone outside the school.

My son is Dyslexic and he graduated from Sedalia 200 school district last year. It was a struggle to get the help he needed. We were overwhelmed trying to get him the proper help. There needs to be more done to help dyslexic children and their families.

I have a daughter with Dyslexia, she struggles daily to read the most basic information. She is fortunate enough to be receiving the education she needs through a private school in St. Louis. However, I work in a public school and see the struggle that many non-diagnosed children face. Please strongly consider passing a law to help them obtain an appropriate education.
