2026 and yet here we are. No better. Please, please, please get these kids some REAL help. Our school didn't even know how students were screened for dyslexia. Not every dyslexic student will score 22 pts below their IQ but that does not mean they are not struggling, losing confidence and grades suffering. Now wonder why 1/2 of dyslexic people end up incarcerated. This is a REAL problem.

Our teachers need to understand that dyslexia is much more than just getting letters and numbers backwards. That children with dyslexia do necessarily dislike school but they are just not being taught in a way they can understand and apply that information to what is being asked of them in a school setting. The schools need more tools to use in the classroom for students with learning disorders and learning disorders need to be caught early so our children have the best chance for success. I wonder how many dropouts had learning disorders that were never addressed.

Please allow children with dyslexia, like my 14 yr old daughter, to finally get the kind of instruction she needs: an Orton-Gillingham based program.

I am a member and sign this petition for all schools to start addressing and get evidence based programs for K-12 grade. These issues need to be addressed in all grades. My son struggles with dyslexia and I'm still fighting to get the right services for him.

Good luck, Hope you Remember the Racist Joe Biden’s famous quote "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you Ain't Black," translation, If You Don’t Vote for Me, ‘You Ain’t Black’, So you “ain’t” black if you vote for Trump? That’s embarrassing and a slap in the face to all black voters. Think about that Before You Vote, and again Joe continues with another racist quote, “The reason I was able to stay sequestered in my home was because some black woman was able to stock the grocery shelf.” Question: Why are Black Americans giving Joe Biden a pass, and accepting his racist comments?

Learning to read at a young age is crucial. Teachers need to continue to be trained on a continuous basis in order to become more understanding of what studies show. Our children depend on it!

My son is dyslexic and I believe the schools and teachers need to learn the right ways of teaching these children and not just let them move on if they have an IEP in place. We are supposed to be closing the GAP but what do we do when public schools are not doing this???

Half of the students in our state are failing reading, I think this points to a systemic problem in the way our State handles students with reading learning disabilities and dyslexia.
