We, the undersigned, are urging the Texas Congress to add a budget item focused on youth mental health to the 2028-2029 fiscal budget under Education. About 31.9% of adolescents suffer from anxiety and 20.1% suffer from depression. That’s 1 in 7 adolescents who suffer on the daily with mental health issues (defined for the sake of this as depression and anxiety, two of the most common ailments). As such, we are here to lobby for more resources to be added to the public school system to council teens who may not be able to afford therapy.

my daughter has been struggling so much lately and the school counselor is way to busy to help everyone. kids need more support than just one person for the whole campus. please fix this.
