As some of you may know I was involved in a car accident on Western Drive in Gatton while slowing down to turn into my workplace at Andersens. The car behind me failed to see me slow down and indicate. I have worked at Andersens for almost 9years and have had a fear of this happening every day. I am going to write a letter to Main Roads to request the consideration of an added turning lane for this particular part of the road, and maybe also into the car wash complex as I have seen the same circumstances there as well. Its only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt as it is quite a busy road and is used by many large trucks as well. All i ask is for your signature of support to back my request to the Main Roads department. Thanks for your time!

In July 1989 there was a fatal car accident just metres from this location. The road was changed then, is it going to take another fatality to make this road safer? I hope not!
Yes a turning lane outside Andersons Carpet Western Drive Gatton is a great idea. I have seen many accidents and so many near misses there.
I was involved in an accident on Monday 15th June 2015 here and believe we desperately need a turning lane added!
This is a very scary intersection. My daughter also does dancing at a shed in the complex next door and I have many of times felt worried and unsafe with turning into the complex with the amount of cars that are doing 80km/hr while I am at a dead stop at this intersection while waiting for on coming traffic to pass. I fully agree that a turning lane or over taking lane needs to be put into place before someone is seriously injured or killed. And for the safety of our children just wanting to go to their dance lessons.
Totally agree - it's a scary section with trucks coming towards you at 80km also.
please consider this life saving change.

There are too many shop fronts along Western Drive without designated turning areas. People break suddenly to turn anywhere on a 80km road.
