Why can't we have 'average speed' cameras in strategic areas e.g. along Beaulieu Road out of Lyndhurst?

Everyone needs to slow down and stick to speed limits for the sake of these lovely animals . I have seen some people driving at ridiculous speeds through the forest.

I'd like to think that reducing the speed limit to 30mph would help save lives, but somehow I don't think that it will, due to a number of mindless people who use these straight roads as a reason to speed. Speed humps will help stop this and slow them down.

Shout it out across the New Forest. Add just 3 minutes to your journey and driving slower will save lives!

If a driver in front of you is adhering to the speed limit DO NOT overtake. I drive a van through the forest every day. Every day an idiot will overtake me.

New Forest Roads must have max 30mph where animals roam. They have the right to be protected

I traveled from Lymington to Fawley Refinery for 30 years without an incident. One tip I could suggest is to look to the sides of cars approaching in darkness for animal standing on the verge. It worked for me!

Quite frankly there's absolutely no excuse for speeding anywhere. Least of all when it is well signed throughout that there are animals roaming free day and night. I believe it to be local New Forest residents who speed far more than the tourists.

Why are drivers so selfish the roads in the UK seem to be full of arrogant drivers who only care about themselves what chance do the lovely forest ponies have !!

I travel in the Forest almost daily and am appalled at the inconsiderate behaviour of some motorists.
