The one-and-done rule is that the
NBA draft won't accept players unless they are 19 years old. This means
that high school players either go overseas for a year or go to college for a
year and then go straight to the draft. They go to college for a year,
with no regard or intention of actually getting an education. The rule
must be abolished so that once again academics are taken seriously at the basketball universities. That having players come for one year and play one season
while never going to class and then leave for the NBA is detrimental to college
athletics and to the NCAA. This goes
against what the NCAA states as their mission to make academics a paramount
over athletics, so the rule has to be abolished or amended.
Stop the atrocity! I'm tired of this insane rule. The NBA should not dictate how college basketball is operated.
