Ex gratia paid to public officials after end of service is draining our national coffers. It has become an avenue for politicians to loot state funds and enrich themselves at the expense of the taxpayer. Therefore I'm petitioning the gov't to abolish the payment of ex-gratia and replace it with the SSNIT pension just like all other public and civil servants.

Comments: why is it that in this part of our world we turn to give politicians more than they should get? can't we use the money we pay them aside their monthly salaries to build more schools or remove the so called schools under trees. why do we seek to enriching the pockets of people for “ serving ” the nation? we have made public office so juicy such that people are willing to do anything just to get there not to serve but enrich them selves please if we seek move forward as a country i think it would only be a step in the right direction to abolish this ex gracia thing and replace it with the SNNIT pension scheme and that's where you will find people who wouldn't have any intrest in holding public office.... thank you
When they come to office to work and going home they change it to their satisfied package and leave the civil servant own the same

Paying all that money is a serious waste of government resources. If you want to serve then you must do so without expecting anything from the state.

That stupid clause in the constitution for article 71 office holders must be taken out first. The constitution needs amendment
