Had to drive the 5 mile stretch on 24th September at 40 mph and not a single bit of work had been started. Seems from the comments the work has still not started on 1st October.

Im a lorry driver and these delays are costing me driving time and spread over time, our deliveries need to be on time as they are going further on. I suggest someone from Transport Scotland visits France to see how they do it. They can strip and re-lay tarmac at the same time on 2 lanes of a 3 lane national road without convoy systems or disrupting the flow of traffic. 10mph through road works under convoy is plain stupid.

Monday 28th September: Took 1 hour and 45 mines to travel from Dalwhinnie to House of Bruar. Normally takes around 20 minutes.

Conemaster which has been kept out of the market with deliberate means would solve so much here and save taxpayers money...guess who does'nt want that to happen !!

Some common sense please - why have 5 miles at 40mph when you drive the whole section during the day and don't see a single worker. Can works not be done overnight to minimise distruption

Transport scotland could not make a better job of increasing driver frustration if they tried

Some sections e.g. Drumochter have had several carriageway restrictions/closures for pylon work over the last couple of years. A mistake not to use the opportunity for resurfacing then. Dualling should start with sections where a second carriageway is to be constructed without having to slow down traffic on the existing carriageway. That way, when the more difficult sections are started, motorists will have had the benefit of more completed dual carriageway to mitigate delays.

I am old enough to recall many years of A9 evolution. Driving used to be an enjoyable pastime, and I love the road : it's not a "killer" road, it is like any other road in most respects. There are one or two anomalies, such as the split dual carriageway section, the number of tourists not used to the road and the number of tired lorry drivers pegging away, not pulling over, and of course, the deer... As soon as the Scottish government announced their determination to dual the route by 2025, everyone must surely have realised we were going to be in for ten years of disruption. So now we will have to be patient, both on and off the road, controlled and herded like sheep through cones and convoy systems, sitting in long queues of crawling traffic, and there will still be accidents, as there always will be, despite the big brother watching over us through his speed camera eyes... Hey ho...

Conemaster, an approved system, has been thoroughly tested in Scotland in 2006 to automatically lift and lay traffic cones. Saving on average 30 mins per closure, reducing congestion, saving money and saving lives by taking road workers off the road. Perhaps Transport Scotland would re-consider adopting this British product.

While Mr Stewart is milking this Don't forget his party cut the A9 been built as dual (so we would not need these much delayed roadworks) It is wrong that this road is not dualled in 5 years instead of 15

Absolutely ridiculous! Miles and miles of cones and speed restriction to 40 last Sunday and no one working on the road !!

Transport Scotland do not have a clue organising and managing roadworks. They insist on operating a convoy system at nearly every major roadworks. They claim it is to protect the workforce. It does not work, a very dear friend was killed whilst working under the protection of a convoy system. As far as I am aware no other country operates such a system.

I call on the Scottish Government and Transport Scotland to implement better manage road works on the A9 between Perth and Inverness

I travel 90 miles a day on the A9 and am dreading the next few years. Businesses will start moving out and tourism will drop.. sort it out!

If this is the delay with only one section . wait tilll the rest come online. A9 will be a no go zone. It will be quicker to travel Inverness to Perth via Aberdeen

40 zone average speed cameras is ridiculous.

This is health and safety taken to a new level. Very frustrating to see nobody working on long stretches with cones and speed limits
