Fully support the need for this on behalf of mental health advocates

To do nothing is an admission of guilt

Absolutely - but I also feel it needs to have monetary support thrown behind it for much needed funding for the organisations. There isn't enough support available for those in need. Perhaps the AFL could donate proceeds from the round toward mental health services.

One life lost to suicide is too many. It is preventable, we must try.

I'm happy to see the groundswell of support for this and also the interconnected nature of the issues facing the broader community as well as contributors such as CTE, alcohol, gambling, just to name a few. Some good needs to come of traffic events

Any opportunity to create greater awareness and create conversation, is important. Good work Tom.

This is so important and extends far beyond the AFL. With the reach this sport has it's critical not only in providing a platform to raise awareness, but in shaping the discussion within communities.

I fully support this initiative. We must do everything we can as individuals, companies, communities and sports to learn more about mental health, encourage others to talk about it and provide professional support to people in need.

Much like the lack of support for mental health in the armed services, we need to bolster support for mental health in any area of our community, but clearly within our professional sporting arenas. Let's make this normal to talk about and support our men of all ages to speak up! They need to feel supported and provide the pathway for our next generation.

We need to normalise mental health first aid. Encourage young men to speak up and support each other. The AFL play an enormous role in men’s health, the players are not only role models but a voice for young men. If we want to see the change we need to be the change

As a survivor and friend of people who have died from suicide, I applaud any efforts to shine a light and help others.

Great idea Tom, lets get this to be front of mind for the AFL and other community sports bodies.
