Drawstring bags are not designed to carry books! If you don't want them to carry bookbags then you must not issue books for them. All you are doing is creating reasons for the students to be late and or not bring books to class.

Students should be allowed to carry their backpacks to class for many reasons. As a female I know there are times in the month it becomes very handy to have them and a lot of girls do not carry purses. I also find that string bags rip easier where backpacks are durable. Let the kids have their backpacks

My locker is down stairs which is inconvenient to go to since only my first block is down stairs. Also with only 4 minutes of passing time it's nearly impossible to stop at my locker and arrive to class on time

We should be allowed to carry our bags. Hardly anyone uses their locker yet alone know where they are at. It wasn't a problem last year so why is it this year?

Let the kids carry their backpacks. It's like arriving to work or checkout line without your wallet or purse.

If you are going to expect not only my child but all the children that attend West High to carry string bags then you better be willing to front the bill for each and every bag these kids need. Thats including every bag that breaks everytime due to your "Intelligent" rule making. My child will NOT be attending any attention for being late to her classes. Lets see you try to get to get to your locker, the restroom, and to your next class all in 4 minutes.

I don't understand how a backpack with padded straps poses a greater security threat than a draw string backpack. The new administrates are trying too hard to appear tough and authoritative to the student body, that they have lost sight of reason.

How do you expect us to carry all of our books in a string backpack? They will rip. We should be able to have bookbags back because it will be a lot easier to get to class instead of going to our locker bathroom ect. We can just carry all of pur books at the same time instead of having to go all the way to our lockers because some of our classes our classes are all the way on the other side of the school and we dont have time to gonto our lockers then make it to class.
