One backpack equals five of the "drawstring" bags in terms of size and longevity. But the real issue is control isn't it , Davenport? What's next, uniforms? Secondly, when was the last time one of you teachers (or administrators) tried walking from one class to another (when the halls are jammed packed) and utilizing the restroom? If just one of you can walk from one end of the school to the other under these conditions then I won't say another word, however; if you can't then changes must be made that are reasonable. (btw, I really hope for your sakes that no child gets injured during these "mad rushes" in between classes because that might cause a lawsuit and reductions in already low teacher salaries)

I think they should be allowed to carry them but I also think the school should be allowed to search them at any given time if something seems suspicious. I I think they should be allowed more passing time between classes if the school refuses to allow them to carry them.

It's impossible to go to your locker in between every class with a 4 min passing time, and you can forget about having time to use the restroom. Even when there was a longer passing time, it was hard to get from one side of the school all the way to the other side to go to your locker and then back. If my kid gets sent to the office because she is late to a class, I will be one very upset parent and the school will hear about it. Just make things easier on the kids and let them use their backpacks!

Kids should really be aloud to have these back packs because not everyone can go to their locker. Also the strings on the smaller ones cut into our shoulders and weigh us down with all our text books inside.

No one can possible go from one end of the school to the other in a crowded hall then back again... forget going to the restroom! What can a student hide in a backpack that they cant hide in a drawstring bag? This is only hurting the students. Plan on everyone being late to at least one class a day!

On my way to my locker to put my back pack away on the first day of school, 7 people told me to put it away. It has given me more stress about worrying what I need for my classes, stoping by my locker, using the bathroom and making it to my classes on time in those crowed hallways.

Okay. So if you're gonna cut our passing time and expect us to go to our lockers, use the bathroom, and get to class on time in FOUR minutes ? Why not either keep the passing time and give out backpacks back or make the passing time 6 minutes again so we actually have a little bit more time to go use our lockers. I'm a senior and I have never once used my locker until this year. It's all ridiculous. We are not 5 anymore. Treat us like young adults not 5 year olds. Also, how do you expect me to do anything in 4 minutes ? My locker is all the way down stairs far away from my classes and my classes are all around the school far away from each other as well. I barley have time to go from one side of the building to the other side in just 4 minutes. I was actually looking forward to senior year and now it's just been shitty. Thanks west .
