the book bag rule is kinda dumb & there was no problem last year with the book bags plus the books u give us are to heavy to carry around & the string book bags will break if we put books in them

With the reduced passing time, students will not have time to stop at their lockers and get to class. Carrying backpacks is much easier. And as for security concerns, you can carry a weapon in a drawstring bag just as easily as a bulky backpack. I highly doubt someone is going to walk in with a rocket launcher and most students at west are simply not intelligent enough to assemble an explosive device. This rule is just nonsense. What is school without backpacks?

I am so over we are bringing up the next generation but they cant carry their backpack or ladies can't have Midol for periods. Stop hindering our young adults

How do they expect us to go to our lockers every block and get to class on time when they shortened our passing time as well? We need our backpacks.

I feel that we should have our backpacks around school ; not only because of the textbooks we just don't have time between every class to grab books and be on time . It just makes things way easier .

Seems to me like this rule isn't helping ANYONE out. Principle says it's for our safety, come on now. If anyone wanted to sneak a weapon in, a smaller backpack, or no backpack is not going to stop them.

How do you except us to only have 4 minutes of passing time with no backpack that holds all our things. I have heard teaches make comments that it for weapons, no only could they be held in bookbags but as well as clothes, are you going to ban us from wearing clothes, no. I have heard its because drawstring bags are see through and thats not true. I have heard they get in the way, how? You put them under your desk or on the back of it. This rule is not only outrageous but completely unfair, what is the point of having a back if the is no use for one.

I think if they want us to carry are things back and forth to are locker they shouldnt exapect us to be prepared to class we should be able to carry are bags around

It's not fair that I bought this expensive bag to carry my textbooks and can't even use it. Also the shortened passing time raises the need for a bag.

Us kids should be allowed to carry backpacks especially now since they docked 3 minutes off of our passing time. Plus I know I have heavy heavy books with taking harder advance classes and so do other students. It's just more convent.

I am a student at West, and today I was not prepared for any of my classes due to the fact that I didn't have enough time to go to my locker,and to the bathroom. Four minutes is just not enough and us students being able to carry out backpacks would be very helpful.
