if you aren't going to allow backpacks give us more passing time so we won't be late to class west high school is a big school and a lot of kids

I find it really inconvenient that I only come to school for one class a day that I currently have and have to put my backpack away. I only come to the class I have and leave. it really messes with me that I have to put it away and then an hour latter go back to my locker when I could just leave after my class was done. no that doesn't work cause I have to go to my locker after my class. This takes me out of my way and waste my time when I'm in the process of leaving. It adds insult to injury that they don't want kids in school anyways.

Having only 4 minutes to get to class is already bad enough. Not allowing "regular" backpacks in class makes it even worse.

The time it takes to get to your locker mixed with the reduction of passing time has made having all your resources for class nearly impossible. There are better solutions than to ban all backpacks due to them being "bulky" and anything that could be hidden in a regular backpack can be hidden easily in a string backpack.

The whole standing outside in the mornings is not going to be fun when davenports crappy weather comes and drops 20 below 0. We shouldn't have to stand out in that and snow where our clothes can get wet from the snow we were stuck standing in. Come on people let's fight for what we want it's in our constitutional rights to petition

If they are so worried about weapons they should put in metal detectors. Because the whole no back pack rule is not my favorite. I can barely make it to my locker or bathroom or my classes because of having to small of a bag and passing time being cut

An average student carts around anywhere from 2-5 text books all weighing roughly ten pounds and not to mention has To haul separate notebooks for each class and also be ready for any club or sports which involve changing clothes. You cannot expect students to carry all that in their arms or a flimsy draw string bag. If you are so badly worried about weapons being brought to school then by all means start providing large CLEAR backpacks to the student body.

I graduated from there back in 2002 and I have 2 nieces that are currently going to West. I can't not imagine not being able to use a backpack back then. Today times are different what I am sure that has caused this principal to ban the backpacks is because of all the bomb threats they got since 2011 which seems to happen at every year since then. It seemed their goal was to close the school for a whole day. Which worked of course but now you all are being punished for what some morons did for those years. So you can put the blame on those who did those threats and thank them for making your school life harder. Since they ban the backpack they need to give you guys 6 mins max between classes to get your stuff from the locker and get to class. Banning backpack isn't cure for everything answer. Anyone who bring weapons and contraband to school can and will find a way to do so without a backpack anyways.

We do not have time to walk through a crowd of people, and stop at our lockers to get our books for class. 4 minutes is not long enough. If we can't have backpacks, we should go back to 6 minutes. Otherwise, 4 minutes needs backpacks. Try walking from one end of the school to the other WITH a crowd of students standing in the halls all trying to rush to class. If someone wanted to do harm to someone in the school, a draw string back pack will not stop them. They will do it some how some way.

I got an expensive ass nike bookbag & unless you wanna buy me a nike string back pack everytime they break from those heavy ass textbooks , let us wear our bags .. I mean like wtf is the difference .. Exactly there isnt one .. So approve this petition or .. Well jus know you might have over half the school wearing their actual bags w/o giving any fucks .. Like future said "Give no fucks yeah , we don't give no fucks yeah " ..
