This e-petition is in support of Mr Ian McCann, who we believe is a fantastic teacher.
I was fortunate to be taught by Mr McCann at Haslingden Primary School and strongly believe that he will be heavily missed at his current school, Rosewood Primary School.
Mr McCann has handed in his resignation citing ‘personal reasons.’
We want Ian to know that he is regarded as a brilliant teacher and we offer him our best wishes.

I have compiled the feedback from this page to include in a formal letter to the school board. We are currently requesting a documented review of the circumstances surrounding the resignation of Mr McCann.

The volume of support has reached a level where I am now formalizing a letter to the Rosewood Primary School board of governors to ensure this sentiment is officially recorded during their next administrative review. I have secured a meeting with local education correspondents to discuss the impact of Mr McCann's tenure on the school community.

Mr McCann taught my son.He was by far one of the best teachers you could find.Mr McCann was well respected by children and parents like myself.A very fair man with a great sense of humour (working in a primary school myself I know how much one is needed).I feel sad for him that it has had to come to this and I would like to wish him all the best for the future,Not many like him around !!
Mr McCann taught both my mother and I at haslingden primary & without a doubt was the best teacher there that would always push you to achieve your goals!
I think it's appalling the way Mr McCann has been treat ,by his work colleagues , the media and the Education system , have people stopped to think how hard it is to be a teacher , let alone run a school under the current legislation , the way he was treat I'm not surprised he resigned , I hope he will be happy , when he finds another job ,somewhere where he's appreciated and not judged ...good luck Mr McCann ..
He taught me when I was little and got me though a bad time when I lost my baby brother when I was only 10 he is a amazing guy
I was taught by Mr McCann many years ago. He was by far one of the the greatest, compassionate and inspiring teachers I ever had. Any school should feel lucky to have him.
A great man and a a dedicated teacher but it seams that some one was against him
I was taught by this amazing teacher when I was about 8 he was brilliant X I remember the BFG he read to the class and he walked along all the tables X still my favourite book xx what a waste xxx

Amazing teacher it's a joke what's happened he was doing it was for charity and he's made out to be a disgrace, when he's only ever done good!!
