I have been reading through the comments you left and they remind me exactly why I started this fight for our young performers. We are currently gathering financial records to prove that preserving this stage is a far better investment than paying for school rentals. Keep letting me know your stories because they are proving to be our strongest arguments.

Seeing this kind of energy for the Heminway stage confirms that I am not alone in fighting for our young actors. It means everything to see so many neighbors agree that our kids deserve a place to shine instead of a place for storage.

Baldwin School is empty, available for storage, and is right up the road. Save the stage and the gym and use them to their fullest potential.
I believe that the children of Watertown deserve to have a place to artistically express themselves and the Hemingway stage is the perfect place. Watertown in conjunction with Whimsicality can coordinate plays and possibly even hold talent shows for kids K-5 and 6-12. There are so many possibilities if we are creative in thinking of ways to utilize this wonderful space to benefit our town children – acting workshops, yoga and art, dances, Zumba, debates, etc. Please save Hemingway stage.
Directed a few Christmas shows throught the town on the stage. Please keep this alive and give another generation the chance to perform in a great performance space.
I can credit this stage for inspiring the artistic aspects of my childhood and life with everything from chorus concerts to some of my first cello solos.... Let the history of the space inspire next generations not faid into the dust as so many other pieces of my past in Watertown have.
It would be a shame to lose this venue for all of the reasons aforementioned, but also because the natural acoustics in this room are ourstanding.Turning it into closet space or anything other than for which it was constructed would be a travesty !!

The arts are incredibly important, for kids and adults alike. Don't remove a space that could potentially be used for so many different types of expression!

There is almost nothing in this town for the kids to do to keep out of trouble and now you want to take one more away to make room for a bunch of boxes that no one will have a clue where they are when looking for something.
