Dear School Board Members,
The residents of Augustine North are submitting the attached petition to express, in the strongest possible language, our opposition to moving the residents of Augustine North out of the Colonial Forge High School (CFHS) attendance zone.
Our community is one of the few neighborhoods that existed prior to the construction of CFHS. In fact, our neighborhood helped build CFHS through the Developer’s proffers. Accordingly, our neighborhood has a history and connection to CFHS that cannot be matched by any other large neighborhood in Stafford County. Certainly our right to attend CFHS is far superior to the newest neighborhoods which have recently been built, or are still under construction. In addition, we have a far superior right to attend CFHS than the neighborhoods that are 45 minutes to an hour away.

Leave Augustine North at CFHS. Move new developments to schools that have room. The county should have planned for this increase in student enrollment before the developments were approved.
After retiring from active duty a few years ago, one of my main reasons for remaining in the area has been to allow my son to attend the same high school as his older sister. It is also why he has wanted to stay. Please do not destroy this hope by rezoning. Colonial Forge should continue to be our high school.
I've lived in the Augustine neighborhood for the past 20 years and my wife and I helped to build the band boosters, and other programs within CFHS. I completely back this petition for our right to retain access to CFHS for our children.
Being in real estates for many years, it is important to residents in Augustine North to keep our kids in CFHS. Many people come to our area to purchase in the CFHS. Our reputation is know across the country for this school to families moving to this area.
Augustine should NOT be a part of the redistricting plan. Our neighborhood was one of the founding neighborhoods for Colonial Forge. Neighborhoods in south county should not be allowed to take CF spots from a neighborhood that is 1-2 miles from the school. This is absurd!
My husband and I are against redistricting Augustine North to Mountain View HS. We bought in this neighborhood so our kids would have access to the best education. Our youngest will attend Colonial Forge and hopes to be part of Governor School, an opportunity she has worked hard for and would only have if our neighborhood remains within the Forge district. I ask our representatives to fully support this petition.
Please rethink about the rezone. It is not a good idea and unfair to do that to all the people who have been living in this area for along time.

I spoke at the meeting when the school board met to name the high school. We have a history with this high school. In fact I know the history of the land. I would hate to see our residents moved from this school
