My husband and I are against redistricting Augustine North to Mountain View HS. We bought in this neighborhood so our kids would have access to the best education. Our youngest will attend Colonial Forge and hopes to be part of Governor School, an opportunity she has worked hard for and would only have if our neighborhood remains within the Forge district.
I ask our representatives to fully support this petition.

Please rethink about the rezone. It is not a good idea and unfair to do that to all the people who have been living in this area for along time.

Being within the Colonial Forge High School Zoned boundaries was one of the key deciding points for moving to Stafford and buying our home in Augustine. If Augustine is rezoned we may be forced to take our investment, funding, and tax dollars to another more stable district. The real solution is to build a new high school further south starting 2 years ago but "now" is as good a time as ever to start.

Augustine residents have always enjoyed a very close, supportive relationship with Colonial Forge High School. Severing this bond in favor of newly arriving, or yet to arrive, residents would be a huge mistake. Both the families and kids would suffer. Redistricting those who have not even relocated to Stafford County makes a whole lot more sense. Please keep some stability in the school, and don't break a long-standing relationship just to make developers happy. Thank you.

In 1994, the developer for Augustine North granted the land for free to the Stafford County School Board for the development of Colonial Forge High School. The purpose and intent of the land conveyance to the Stafford School Board was so that the Board could build a new high school to the benefit of the Augustine North community (that was established at the same time as the legal conveyance) and the building of Colonial Forge. The School Board should honor the purpose and intent of the land conveyance from Augustine North’s developer and keep Augustine North in the Colonial Forge School District.

Dear School Board Members,
We relocated from Chicago in 2015 to the Stafford VA area - One of our key considerations when reviewing areas were schools, and in particular, CFHS. We chose to buy in Augustine on the very basis that it fell within CFHS zone. We were extremely surprised and disappointed to learn that Augustine was being considered to be moved outside of the attendance zone. It was our understanding that Augustine North had helped build and shape CFHS, and the incredible reputation has achieved over the years. It is not clear to us how new construction and areas outside of the immediate area are being considered over Augustine North. We urge you to reconsider and not allow any disruption to the families of Augustine. Many thanks.

We specifically chose to buy a home in Augustine North 4 years ago so our children could attend Colonial Forge. Our youngest graduates this year. While we will have no children attending next year, the proposal to rezone this neighborhood to Mountain View will have an impact on the resale value of our home and many others in the neighborhood. We bought in the best neighborhood so our children could attend the best high school in the county and we knew that others are seeking the same.
To rezone children who live so close to the high school while others that live 30 min away are not being considered is an unfair and wrong choice.
Also, to rezone to make room at CFHS for children that will live in homes that don't even exist yet is also unfair and wrong.

I strongly support the Augustine North petition. Additionally, I ask that the Stafford County School Board conduct a complete analysis of planned developments and seriously consider the construction of a new high school to meet the emerging student population as the county continues to grow. This redistricting will only serve as a temporary fix to the greater problem and will ultimately result in this same drill occurring in a few years.

I am a Colonial Forge Alum (2008) and my parents reside in Augustine. I am one of 5 children in my family to attend CFHS. Augustine has been a huge part of Forge since it's doors were opened. After all this time to redistrict this community seems wrong and unfair. The community is down the street from CFHS and has been a huge part of the continued success of the academic and athletic programs. This is a poorly constructed plan!

While it is unfortunate that the planners and Developers were shortsighted in building too many homes without proper infrastructure (additional schools, roads, Parks, community Centers, etc), their lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part, yet this exactly what is being asked of Augustine N. we live 5min or less than Colonial Forge HS yet we are being considered for redistricting while people almost 45min to an hour away are NOT being redistricting. Is it just me? That is completely non sensical and poor decision making. Instead of redistricting Augustine N to any school, it makes MUCH more sense to RE-DIRECT Budget monies to build more schools for those that commute over 45m to an hour per day to get hee. Short of that, perhaps the boundaries of Stafford county might need tightening. I bought a home in Augustine N, 5 min from CFHS, for my kids to be in THAT school district. If I had wanted to be in another district I would have bought there. Stop the double standard of telling people they must be in zone x to go to school x only to change the rules!!! Stop playing God so irresponsibly with people's lives, investments and communities. This is damaging people's relationships w each other, relationships between communities and more. Stop the insanity! Stop making the people who played by the rules pay for the sins of the people in the Stafford County Gov who approved these plans without proper planning. This is NOT our fault. Push back and demand more schools. Do not redistrict N Augustine!!!

Like many of my neighbors, I moved into Augustine because of the standards that CFHS has set. Plus, this neighbor helped name the school from the beginning.

Augustine North property values are closely aligned with associated schools and as such should stay at Colonial Forge. This is a key reason that families bought into Augustine.

We chose Augustine to be our home 3 years ago because of Colonial Forge High School. We love Augustine North and we love CFHS. Maybe the kids who already have to commute 20-30 minutes to go to school should be moved. We strongly support this petition!

I agree that Augustine North needs to be kept in the CFHS district. Our established community should not be penalized by moving our kids to other schools due to newer communities being built.

Our kids were going to this school long before the other neighborhoods were even built. Why should our kids be moved. Move the newcomers.
