We the undersigned, fully
support the implementation of Prescription
Drug Monitoring Legislation in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. This
legislation would promote the appropriate use of monitored drugs and help in
the reduction of misuse of abuse of monitored drugs. Legislation will also
include working with law enforcement policies and guidelines.
The feedback from people across the province confirms this legislation is long overdue. I am currently working on a formal brief for the Department of Health to ensure our concerns are met with action.

I am a recovering Addict and currently enrolled in the Methadone Program. To me, this petition is important to gain a better control on the Drug Abuse going on in this world. Every bit of support helps :)

This is an absolute necessity. So many families will benefit greatly from this. Drs who gamble with people's lives to line their pockets should be held accountable. Citizens who sell their prescriptions without thought to the families there are tearing apart and the peoples lives they are ruining is totally disgusting. Amazing plan that I pray gets put in place ASAP.

Really need this to be monitored and it would also be nice to have a drug rehabilitation center in the Burin Peninsula as its costly for people to travel back and forth to St. John's for treatments. With the amount of drug overdoses here on the Bruin Peninsula monitoring the prescriptions and a rehab center will greatly benefit this area.

I pray the NL government will get involved and stop the doctors and their patients...aka clients. There would be less prescription med on the street if the doctors stop writing scripts for 400 tablets of oxytocin and other restricted drugs. The habitual doctors get their triplicate prescription privileges revoked. Some even have a life long ban. Hope this helps.

Support 100% - Have parents who are seniors with their family out of province - would be great to ensure that the medicine they are taking is monitored to ensure they are getting what they should and how it works with other medication!
