William Grant Stairs was a Canadian who beheaded an African king to take possession of province in the Congo. Henry Morton Stanley was an American imperialist who killed Africans indiscriminately while claiming to save them. In past centuries, these men were celebrated as great explorers, but they have since been exposed as sadistic conquerors. It is time to stop commemorating them in Canada.
