It's deeply regrettable, but sadly not surprising, that we have streets named after brutal mercenaries whose "greatest" achievement was the racist killing and subjugation of sovereign nations. Thank you for helping to fix that.

I live in an apartment on Columbus St. and I cringe every time I have to tell my street name to anyone. I would be more than happy to see the name changed.

It’s important to know our history and important to learn from it. Stairs and Stanley were butchers, not heroes. To continue to have streets named after them is a stain on our city.
