On Thursday April 23rd, the Gallant Government
announced a cut of $2.4 million
to Early Learning and Child Care (Day Care) operators in New Brunswick (QIFS),
effective June 1, 2015. With this reduction, these daycares will be forced to consider
eliminating spaces, laying off staff, reducing staff
wages and benefits, or even closing the doors outright and/or increasing rates to parents.
We do not want to do any of these!
We believe in affordable, accessible, and quality
Early Learning and Child Care and ask you to contact all government MLAs at [email protected]
and copy the Opposition MLAs at [email protected] to help
stop this cut, and sign this online petition. We appreciate your support for our Early Learning and Child Care
centre and appreciate your support for quality child care services.
Very important that the government re-evaluate these cuts and reflect on other opportunities to cut spending, such as catering for meetings and events, requiring staff to carpool when possible, and reducing travel budgets. These are our children, they deserve the best!
