I lived next door to the Whitman. Amplified music was disruptive. It was difficult to find a parking space when there were events, hardly enough spaces for the long term residents that have lived there and pay hefty taxes. This is a quiet neighborhood. Like Savannah’s quest to maintain

I would hate to see such a beautiful part of Savannah become so commercialized. Visitors to Savannah really enjoy being a part of the Old Southern town and would not feel safe if the proposed changes were enacted.

Stop giving variances when it increases demands for parking.

This proposal should never even be presented to the Planning Commission! It is so outlandish, totally inappropriate, a detriment to our Historic neighborhood and has no regard for quality of life of home owners whose taxes support our city!

An assembly hall would be a disturbance to the peace of this neighborhood. Please don’t allow it.

We have an impossible parking situation right now. As a resident of this area, I am so not interested in seeing the situation worsen!

Time for city leaders to consider the full-time downtown residents when making these decisions

An assembly hall is inappropriate in a residential neighborhood. Some of us have been neighbors for 44 years. I can't borrow a cup of sugar from an out-of-state corporation.

Zoning regulations are meant to protect neighborhoods and the quahog life residents expect. The duty of a zoning board is to support the majority and not cater to a single property owner.

It is a lovely neighborhood with limited parking and allowing this would negatively impact the residents.

The zoning folks need to drop the $$ signs in their eyes and respect the very important residential nature of this area neighborhood.

We do not need event space in the neighborhood . Noise, trash, parking, would all be impacted

I do not support the rezoning because it leads to the deteriation if quiet neighbourhoods which Savannah must preserve if it wants to maintain the qualities that make people want to live downtown.

The Landmark District needs to maintain the historic traditional character of Savannah's residential neighborhoods, therefore, I support opposition to zoning variances for the Whitman Mansion.
