As a former Savannah resident I can attest that this Assembly Hall is a bad idea. As one who now lives in a small city overrun by the very things this Assembly Hall would bring, I can assure you that Savannah doesn't want nor need it.

Granting this zoning and parking variance is a clear example of putting commercial interests over protecting the rights of local residents. We are already squeezed for parking in front of our own homes. At what point does the City step up and say NO to this kind of disregard for its inhabitants?

There must be a reasonable balance between residential and tourism interest. Incremental increases are insidious if they do not take into consideration the cumulative impact of previous decisions. Please consider the stress existing enterprises on the neighborhoods infrastructure when considering this variance.

We love the ambiance and unique southern atmosphere in this part of Savannah. It is a special place of leisure and tranquility. What a tragic mistake it would be to fail to preserve what you have and the proposed use would be a step in the wrong direction!
