This is incredibly upsetting as National Vision has countlessly worked doctors to death and sacrificed patient care in the doing. Doctors are not permitted the time they need to take care of patients and so countless misdiagnosis have caused patients much dismay. Naming a school this says that this company is more than okay and gives it a sense of credibility it absolutely does not have.

Makes it sound like a trade school like “DeVry School of Electronics.”
This appears to be a decision that was made by desperation and greed. It’s better that the school would close down, than ruin their reputation.

I graduated from nova Southeastern University in 2008. Since then I have worked and owned a private practice in Chattanooga Tennessee. In my 10 years I have had many pre-optometry students work in my office before attending optometry school. In every instance I have recommended Nova for their education. If this name change comes into effect I will no longer recommend anyone attend the school. I will also be embarrassed that my degree holds connection to the school. Please do not let this happen.

I fervently disagree with the name change to NVA. They sold their souls.

This is utterly shameful. No wonder we are not respected within the health professions.

National Vision doesn’t even have the best interests of patients or their doctors. What a terrible idea to compromise integrity of the professsion for dollars! It’s a disgrace. I will not send alumni money if this happens.

If you change the name please don’t change it to a commercial chain company’s name. It’s degrading.

Disgusting. Bought and paid for by the worst name in corporate optometry.
