Optometry would only be taking a big hit. Seems like we’re losing everything we’ve worked for the profession. Speechless is the best word to describe my feeling; seems like we’re just going backwards.. thanks NSU.

HANBURY, ETC. BACK OUT NOW, IT IS NOT WORTH IT. The University of Tampa’s donors would pay at least $20 million or so to get their name on a campus building... $5 million only to ruin the good name of a prestigious school... stupid, and the process by which this happened was totally UNETHICAL.

This name change will reflect poorly on any graduates of what should be a program without obvious corporate affiliations. This is an especially surprising choice, considering the attitude some faculty had toward this company when I was a student.

This is not only an insult to many in the profession, it may also be dangerous for patients. But on top of it, the whole thing sounds like a gimmicky marketing ploy that will backfire and make the whole profession look foolish.

Very poor decision and a bad signal to the profession.
