This decision is an embarrassment to the entire profession. Have you no shame?

I just sent 2 of my technicians (central Michigan university students) to Nova after highly recommending the program. They were accepted and are attending. If this name change goes through, I will not be recommending the school any longer.

The name should not be changed. I will no longer support the school if it is renamed. This is a disgrace and a huge mistake. This will negatively impact the school and as I am a mentor to future optometry students, I will guide them to other colleges of optometry not to national vision optometry.

As a former student of this great institution, I feel this would be a huge step backward for NSU Optometry and it will also deter future applicants. Houston adds a surgery center to their campus and NSU names theirs after a corporate giant. Please think about the message this sends to the public and to prospective students before going through with this.

Keep corporate affiliations out of schools.

How ironic that Doctors are not allowed to receive ink pens from Vendors but we sell naming rights to them.

Pride or prejudice, that is what is at stake.

This is a serious blow to private optometry. It commercializes and undermines the profession. Please rethink this terrible idea.

Will I still graduate as an OD if the name change goes through?

So very disappointed. Please do right by leaving the school name alone. Our pride is attending Nova Southeastern University, NOT National Vision.

No surprise. Always felt the administration just sees each student as a dollar sign. At least my diploma won't have that gut wrenching name on it.

Renaming this institution due to a financial agenda will change the way the medical community, optometric community, and patients perceive eye care and optometry. A symbol of unbiased education will now be turned into a corporate agenda to recruit more “refractionsits” and ruin the progress optometry has overcome in the last few decades. Renaming academic institutions after corporate brands is not seen in any formal medical program, neither should this. Dr. Luis Rojas OD
