The Borough finally caved and approved the land for our skatepark. We forced them to admit that these kids deserve a legal place to exist in this town. Keep your eyes on the project as they break ground because we are not letting them back out of this now.

Littlestown Pennsylvania needs a fun, safe and legal Skatepark!

and appreciated by their communities. In too many places skateboarders
get the wrong message from local authorities who limit or outlaw
skateboarding and ignore its inherent benefits. Skateparks are the
solution. Every skatepark supports hundreds of kids that might otherwise
have nowhere to go."

We are teaming up with Citadel Skateboarding Foundation to ask the
Borough of Littlestown for permission for our skate community to take
ownership of a space in town. Our goal is to initiate the building of a
professionally designed, community funded skatepark - a safe,
family-oriented environment that will benefit the entire community.
Outdoor skateparks are proven to increase both physical & mental health.
They entice people to step away from electronics and enjoy the fresh
air. A local skatepark would actively reduce complaints of damage to
private property and illicit behavior by giving riders a legal place to
skate. And finally, a skatepark has many positive economic impacts for a
small town. A skatepark will bring skaters and their families to
Littlestown to spend time at the park, eat at local restaurants, shop at
convenience stores, and engage with other small businesses.

The Littlestown Borough Council continues to ignore our requests while treating our local riders like criminals. I am done asking nicely for a space that belongs to this community so I am turning up the pressure on these officials this week.

A skatepark always works out 10 times better than expected. I was involved with getting the Sykesville Skatepark put in place and it is very possible to get done in every town. I would love to help in any way I can.
In my teens we didn't have a local skate park. we were all over town and getting chased by police when we were just trying to have fun. A skate park would offer a safer no hassle spot for the future of street sports such as bmx roller blading and skateboarding. To avoid cases of vandalism, drug dealing, physical altercations place camera in and around the park and parking lot
Grew up skating in town and everyone always wanted a park, But it never happened. Actually got my board taken by the cops for skating behind the old sheetz and got ran off plenty of times from different locations cuz there was no where to skate. Hope they make it happen!
A skatepark would do this town wonders. Keeping kids/teens/adults out of the streets and off the sidewalks and providing a safe place for people to skate would keep them and the rest of our community out of danger. BUILD THIS PARK.
Not every kid grows up with the dreams of becoming a pro baseball player or NFL superstar. Extreme sports are more popular than ever; give these kids a fun, safe outlet.

It's time to update our parks. Other surrounding Communities have and are currently updating theirs again. No reason why other smaller or same size boroughs are able to do it and we are left with run down swings and a much unused property.
