Katzie Elementary to Latimer Road Elementary

Those of you who are apposed to this change please fill out this form! We deserve to hear other options.

Why we are opposed:

• crossing a HWY to attend school

• bought in this area to attend a school in the Clayton area.

• we pay property taxes for this area and the schools in this area • there are multiple illegal suits that house families with children who attend Katzi, why should they have first pick at a school I pay for!!?

• the notice was not publicly distributed to those effected.

• daycares will need to be changed as the ones by our home are not willing to travel across Fraser to pick up or drop off

Information:

A school boundary change is being proposed for a portion of the existing Katzie Elementary School catchment for implementation in September 2015. Under this proposal, the southernmost section of the Katzie Elementary School catchment, as outlined in red on the accompanying map, would be moved to the Latimer Road Elementary catchment.

This proposed change would not apply to students (and their siblings) already attending Katzie Elementary, though those students could choose to register at Latimer Road, if desired. As of September 2015, new students in the proposed move areas would attend Latimer Road.

This boundary change is proposed in order to accommodate current and continued enrolment growth at Katzie Elementary. Between the 2013/14 school year and the 2014/15 school year, Katzie’s enrolment grew by 174 students and the school is now full.
