This is an example of poor planning by Surrey. They are at it again with a plan to build 236 townhomes and stacked townhomes in the area right next to Latimer Road Elementary (Greenside Estates). Imagine what 236 additional families will do to school overcrowding and catchment zones. To oppose that senseless development, see this petition: https://www.change.org/p/christopher-atkins-linda-hepner-don-t-eliminate-greenside-s-natural-space-with-high-density-development

Walking to Latimer Road from this proposed catchment is not feisable. Not only is it having small children cross a HWY if walking but it's also not a direct drive due to limited access from 192. This greatly effects the resale of my home and others who specifically bought into a catchment area based on school.

It does not seem right when they build schools in developement and the children can not attend!

crossing the highway seems very dangerous & unnecessary for those that live SO CLOSE to the boundary.

Making children cross the intersection of Fraser Highway and 192nd Street is dangerous and insane.

There should be more schools in such a large catchment area

A family bought our house just three blocks from Katzie, partly because of the proximity of the school.

As a one vehicle family with 2 working parents, this move is NOT fair or feasible. Why do we bother settling in areas promoting a strong sense of community, only to have it ripped out from beneath us. How do I tell my son that he will not be attending the same school as his best friends and neighbors?!
