- Based on school rules, our children are not allowed refillable or disposable water bottles in school. Only upon receipt of a doctor's note can a child be allowed to carry water. It can be expensive and a time constraint for a parent to have to get a doctor's note for the simple need of a water bottle. It is disruptive to the class and to the child's learning to have to continually be excused to go to the water fountain instead. Just like teachers are allowed, children should be allowed access to a water bottle to keep with them in class and drink from as needed.
