Please retain the open space - this parkland area is enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Consult widely with the community before taking action.

We need to maintain areas such as Gough Whitlam Reserve and Waterworth Park as recreation areas for sport and passive recreation.

It's vital that these areas are preserved for our children and grandchildren. You only have to look at surrounding areas to see the density created by developers and lock of open space.

Just for the record Jean T Hingaia is a resident of Earlwood, not Surry Hills?

Cluttering our parks with an archery and a childrens bike safety facility will only add to the already traffic congestion and minimal parking spaces we have, and will also put pedestrians at risk particularly attempting to cross between Gough Whitlam and Waterworth Park on Bayview Avenue. There is the possibility of people, bush walkers, canoeist, orinteering clubs, recreational fishers, sports enthusiast and our owners/ & dogs accessing or using Waterworth Park in danger of flying arrows. We use to have beautiful trees in Waterworth Park, these were removed and the parks river bank to make way (assuming) for the Councils proposed Archery and by doing so, this has impacted on the many birds that inhabitated this area. The Councillors that chose to selfishly proceeded to encroach this space with minimal consultation with the users, until now, I say; Shame on you CC, we (users/residents/visitors/pets) are not very happy. Leave our beautiful parks be. Jeannie - Earlwood.

Passive recreational space is rare in Sydney. Gough Whitlam Reserve and Waterworth Park are pricless. These parks must be protected. We don't need a bike training facilty (there is one 4.3 ks away at Sydney Park) and we also don't need an Archery Range (there's one 4 ks away at Monteray). Once the green space is gone it wont be coming back.

Children and adults need space and recreation facilities to keep active and fit. Councils have no right to use this space for possible development that benefits very few. Listen to the people who do have a vote!

an archery park would under-utilize Waterworth Park as it would be dangerous for any other activity to occur there, like walking the dog, going bushwalking, having a picnic by the river, practicing the saxaphone or bag pipes, playing football, all of which happen now on a daily basis.

Canterbury Council - we need to keep open spaces and parkland available to the residents - no one wants to live in a concrete jungle. Vote Green at Sept Council elections - No more Property Developers holding council seats - its an outrage.

I dont feel like Canterbury council has the communities' best interest at heart. Mostly they just do what ever they like despite how it affects every one they are supposed to represent. Corrupt!!! Insatiable need for money/greed/power!!!
