Tell Morristown & Erie Railway to get their gasses out of here!
Mount Olive Twp. residents have been notified that recently, on behalf of "Gibson Gas", Morristown & Erie Railway is storing 15 - 18 railroad cars filled with butane fuel and propane in our community, where we live and our children attend school. While railway attorney John Fiorilla was quoted in an NJ.com article claiming "Everyone felt that was the safest place to put them", we'd like to know WHO IS EVERYONE?
The railway's profitable fuel storage cars have to go now and stay out forever. While we're at it, let's create a law preventing this argument from happening again. Chemical and fuel storage has to remain at a safe enough distance where an official third party/government issued spill and fire evacuation radius does NOT include a residential neighborhood or a school zone.
This should be a no-brainer, but unfortunately we'll need to take action to make sure these dangerous and selfish business decisions don't take place again at our expense.

The massive surge in support proves the neighborhood is finished putting up with the Morristown and Erie Railway playing games with our safety. John Fiorilla and his bosses might want to call themselves experts but they clearly have no idea who they are dealing with. We are taking this fight directly to them until those hazardous rail cars are gone for good.

Agreed. This doesn't belong in such a populated area surrounded by several schools. They all need to be removed. Period.
I'm not sure why the residents weren't informed of this given the fact that these cars are being stored in a HIGHLY residential area.

Not near our High school!!!
This is a mile from my home and do not feel safe. Please have them removed.
To park these train cars where they could kill people is obsurd. Park them in a train yard...dont kill our famies

I'm in the red/fire zone and this is unacceptable. We pay unbelievable taxes and this is what we get??? To put so many people in danger is simple unacceptable. We need something done immediately.
