Petition to obtain Funding to Upgrade and Heat Charlestown Swimming Pool

We, the people of Charlestown and its surrounding areas, are requesting the Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport with Special Responsibility for Tourism and Sport to assist in providing funding to upgrade the Charlestown Swimming Pool, make the area more secure and provide a sustainable heat source for heating the pool and shower facilities.The Charlestown Swimming Pool is an important sporting, social and safe facility for the youth in our area but our numbers would be higher if the water was heated and the facility upgraded. We provide employment to 5 local lifeguards and support the local CE scheme. We want to continue to provide this facility in our community so please help. Thank you.

The momentum for our pool upgrades is undeniable now. Seeing this much support confirms how important this facility is to everyone in Charlestown.

Fix the pool. Important for local kids to have somewhere safe to go.
The pool is far too cold for the kids to stay in for long. We really need heating so they can actually enjoy swimming lessons without shivering.
Hard to keep the kids interested when the water feels like ice. Would be a great boost for Charlestown if this gets sorted.
Upgrade the place and make it proper. It serves the whole area and we cant let these facilities just fall apart
ABOUT TIME. Its a vital spot for the town and needs serious investment.

My lads use this every summer but honestly it is freezing. Please put in proper heating so we dont have to drive to the next town over.
