Can't believe what the City is doing to our veterans who have no where to go. What an terrible way to treat veterans! Mayor Stanton should hang his head in shame. I am sure he and his family have a nice, cozy home to reside in.

The Mayor is a "Establishment Democrat" remember that come election time (3 years). Think Donald J. Trump in the 2016 election.

They don't harm Anybody and after they served this Country the last they deserve is to have a safe place to sleep on. Houseless people are humans too and should be treated with the same dignity as the rest of us. Please let them keep their space.

Please keep this open - we need to be more appreciative of our veterans and instead of failing them treat them as heroes and give them anything they need.

Look, I understand how some home owners in the area may not want this camp in view, saying its a "dirty eyesore" As awful and selfish as that may sound, I still understand it, to an extent,...with that being said, What I cannot understand is how these very same home owners who are "uncomfortable" looking at the camp have absolutely no clue that many, if not all, of these veterans have seen sights we cannot ever imagine, things that were so far beyond "uncomfortable" beyond horrifying, beyond terrifying. Beyond grotesque, beyond gruesome and far beyond what any human should have to see, and something once seen, can never be "unseen" Not being a Veteran myself, I don't want to make assumptions or put words in anyone's mouths, but I do think I'm safe in assuming that whatever "horrors" our veterans have seen, the sights are only one factor in their whole of traumatizing experience. My point with my very long "comment" Is this, we are the problem. We are the people, the generations, and the voices that need to be heard. If we have never served in the military, than I believe it is our duty to serve the men and women that have served us. I feel it's the least we can do. It's far too easy to blame the next guy, or even the victims. We say it's their bad choices that have led them to the situations they're in. We love to tell ourselves they must be on drugs, or have gambling problems. We tell ourselves this so we feel better and justified in our judgement, I certainly do not have the answers. But I do believe in the power of people in numbers, and I feel we have sat back as a society and turned our heads to this epidemic far too long. We have wrongly assumed that the "powers that be" have systems in place to care for our vets and revert back to blaming the victims. If there's only one thing you take away from this, I pray it's that we remember the very veterans we want to move away from our neighborhoods, could very likely be the first people you turn to in c

This needs to remain open. Our fellow vets needs a safe place and warm place to be. They signed the blank check of their lives not to be just chucked out on the streets like a blank sheet of paper!

under the o administration, our military has been cut, pensions have been, serviceman and women have been laid off, veterans affairs is not doing their jobs, vets are homeless, vets cant get work, but illegals can, vet are being pushed and stepped on by the government and o's administration , we the citizens have more respect and loyalty for our military, we are helping them Keep Camp Alpha opened for the men and women who have put their lives on the line in the name of Freedom, God Bless our Military
