Paul Burke is an outstanding person. In the five + years that I have known him, he has been a person that I have admired, respected, and looked up to. The support from his current and past students speaks volumes about his character. The other factor that needs to be recognized is the quality of the group of people that are supporting him. Paul is not being backed by a small group with a personal agenda, he is being supported by a community that knows what is important to them. Like many, many others, I will stand by Paul now and I believe that due process will show that he is the correct person to help guide our children towards their future.

Why is there a petition for an unknown matter? No one knows what it is that he did. I'm not saying that he's a bad guy, but I'm also not saying that he's a good guy. Right now he's just a guy and no one knows what this is all about. Anyone who signed this petition could have made a huge mistake, but also may not have. But how would you know until it's too late? Even in the description it says that "The reasons are not known". That's why I'm not signing any petition for Paul Burke yet, because I don't know the details about why he is on leave.
It's just something to think about to all Oakridge students looking into this petition.

Paul Burke is one of the greatest men I have every met. Paul makes a positive difference in people's lives. Paul Burke has all the qualities of a great leader. He is compassionate, positive, and a visionary. Paul is a pillar of our community, a family man, and committed to Oak Ridge. I stand behind Paul Burke 110%. This world is a better place because of Paul Burke!

Every interaction I have personally had with Paul Burke has been very positive. I feel that it is wrong that the school does not allow Mr. Burke to tell his side of the story (whatever the allegations). I have seen this happen to teachers before and it is so unfair!

We have had kids at ORHS for 6 years now and have been nothing but impressed with his leadership. He has made such an impact. My husband is now serving his second term on the Buckeye School District . Please don't let the claims of a few outweigh the greater good and please don't let the legal fees guide your decision.
