Petition: By signing this petition, I show my support for the Autism Society of Colorado's Autism Awareness license plate. I also pledge my intention to acquire one when they are available. Please bring this initiative to a vote in the Colorado State Legislature during the 2017-18 session.
About this petition: If you live in Colorado, please lend your support for the Autism Society of Colorado (ASC) by pledging to purchase a new Colorado Group Special License Plate. The unique plate design feature will promote "Autism Awareness and Acceptance" - final design still to come.
We need your help to bring a bill for this plate to the Colorado legislature for a vote during the 2017-18 session.The Autism Society of Colorado (a non-profit philanthropic organization) will introduce this special license plate that will be available to Colorado registered vehicle owners. The plate will be available by 2018. It will remain available as long as we continue to distribute a minimum of 3,000 annually. Proceeds generated by this project will directly support a fund managed by ASC for adult services across Colorado.
First, we need 3,000 Colorado resident signatures in support of this initiative in order to bring a bill to a vote in the Colorado state legislature early 2018. Signatures will also be considered a pledge to purchase a plate (if the bill is approved by the Colorado state legislature). Once approved, a minimum of 3,000 plate sets will need to be requested annually or the plate will be retired.
Fees for the Autism Awareness Colorado license plate - Pre Certification: $25 required donation to the Autism Society of Colorado in addition to existing registration fees ($50 at the time of petition creation). Renewal Fee: $0.
Proceeds generated from the pre certification payment for the plates will directly support adult services through the Autism Society of Colorado. Please proudly show your support for the Autism Society of Colorado by signing the license plate petition. Thank you!

I just checked the dashboard and saw we hit one thousand signatures which feels huge honestly since I honestly did not think this would move this fast when I first sat down to write it up. It makes me think about all the cars on the road soon with these plates and how that money is going to actually go to real help for adults in Colorado so thank you for sticking with me while I figure out the legislative side of things.

I have been staring at these designs all morning and honestly the options still feel like they need more heart because this is about so much more than just a piece of metal on a bumper. It is wild how many of you message me about how a little plate can actually shift someone else's perspective on the road and that is exactly why I am still pestering everyone at the capitol office even when they stop picking up.

I really need people to hit up their neighbors right now because we are just shy of reaching that first hundred signatures and it would be huge to cross that threshold before the end of the day. If you just send this link to a few people you know in Colorado it might actually get us over the hump since I keep checking the counter like every five minutes and getting pretty impatient about it.

Our five year old son was recently diagnosed with severe autism.... I really enjoy seeing the autism awareness license plate on other cars when we are driving around. I don't feel so alone in the struggle for positivity! Thank you!!!!
Please allow those who are autistic families allow themselves to be recognized. It would also be beneficial for EMS to be aware that there might be a survivor on board who has autism! Great tool for all!
If people in our society even began to understand Autism then the people with Autism could stop suffering so much!!! I lisence plate would be just like a medical bracket. My best friend has twins with Austism and has had major issues with the cops and her boys in a traffic stop. Please help people with autism!!!
I am a mother of a autism child. I have looked and seen licence plates from wildlife to girlscouts etc. I feel and would appreciate to see a day when AUTISM is added to the list of these licence plates. So that we can also bring Awareness and also show our Pride. Thank You
pediatrician at Children's Colorado who often volunteers for special Olympics, autism speaks, and autism society of Colorado. #autismawareness is the cause nearest to my heart. I would be beyond proud and honored to have this license plate.

I would definitely purchase this plate to show support for my son and for Autism Society who has provided services to us personally. We could not thank them enough!
