We, in the Byford community, are seeking the change of the timetable for the bus number 254. We have come to the realisation that this bus falls short on two points:

a) The last bus leaves Armadale station at 7:10pm on Mondays - Fridays.

b) There is no bus service on Sundays.

This entices a problem. It means that if you miss the bus, you are forced to look for other means of transport, keep in mind this is an averaged 15km journey. Lets say we take a taxi, the current taxi fee per 1 km is $1.59, times that by the 15 km journey to Byford and thats a total of $23.90. May not seem like much, until you compare it to the price of the average fair fof bus travel, which is $2.20.

People who work or have to commute on Sundays are then forced to look for other means of transport, (i.e car ride, taxi). Note the main purpose for public transport, is to reduce congestion and green house gas emissions into the air, while providing a clean safe travel environment, but the opposite is achieved when users are forced to provide their own means of transport.

We believe that Byford is looked down upon since it is a new suburb. All we ask is that you review this problems at hand and offer a suitable solution such as an extension to the bus times, even if it means:

a)1 bus every hour past 7:10pm, till 10:00pm.

b) 1 bus per hour on Sundays.
