I have been in contact with the department of public works regarding the damage to the property on Galt Street. The city officials have acknowledged receipt of our petition and I am currently awaiting a formal response regarding their timeline for repairs.

seen a lot of stuff like this in north bay lately. very frustrating for the owners on galt street. just pay up and get it done.
total joke. the city dug it up so the city should fix it. stop trying to pass the bill to people who didnt do anything wrong.
fix the pipe already. nobody should have to pay for someone elses mistake.
This is absurd. How can they charge someone for their own mess? Unbelievable.
THE CITY NEEDS TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS. THEY HIRED THE CREW SO THEY NEED TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE INSTEAD OF BULLYING RESIDENTS.

As a homeowner I feel it is unfair to expect a person to pay for repairs that an independent contractor did. They are responsible for getting permits and located before doing any digging. Their neglect to do so and causing damage is solely their fault and hence their responsibility.
