Hard work, dedication, and creativity. These are all things I will gladly bring to the role of 3L Class Treasurer if elected. I will make it my mission to ensure our last year is full of fun and memories we will cherish for a lifetime. As 3L Class Treasurer, I will be sure that our class is in a financially stable situation to make our last year the best one yet.

To begin with, I am a strong candidate for the Treasurer position because of my ability to efficiently handle finances. In undergrad, I received my Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Michigan-Ross School of Business, where I took classes such as finance, accounting, and business law which aided me in being financially savvy. Fast forward to now, as 2L Class Treasurer, I have been diligent in ensuring we have been in a strong financial situation to host class events and purchase paraphernalia. Additionally, I have worked closely alongside the current SBA Treasurer in an effort to make sure our class needs are known and accounted for.

Moreover, I believe my collaboration skills would assist me as Treasurer. I am a firm believer in there being “power in numbers” and cherish opportunities to work alongside others. As Parliamentarian of the Black Law Students Association, I had the pleasure of working alongside other members on the e-board. This required me to understand everyone’s work style, learn their roles and understand how I could contribute effectively. I stayed engaged with not only the e-board, but our members to make sure I was equipping us with the intel to provide relevant programming and resources. As 2L Class Treasurer, I have also worked closely alongside our 2L board to brainstorm ways we could bring our class together and bring up any relevant issues that we need to be alleviated. As Junior Member of Law Review, I have had the pleasure of working alongside Senior Title Editors and other board members to launch and source-check our online articles. As 3L Class Treasurer, I will also be sure to provide assistance and support to other e-board members whenever necessary.

As 3L Class Treasurer, I hope to implement innovative fundraising tactics to increase the funds we have access to for our last year. I have creative ideas such as having food trucks visit the school, hosting movie nights, and other ways we can raise money while having a great time. I promise I will go above and beyond expectations to make sure I am adding value to our class.
