We, as future neighbors of the planned development at 332 W. Wildey Street (permit application #1053234), oppose any plans to construct homes on this lot that will have roof heights taller than the 38-foot maximum allowed by local building code.
These two large buildings would kill our view from our backyard and roof. We absolutely love being able to look down into the next backyard that currently exists here, and also see over the horizon. Also, we will now be having to deal with the construction every single day as it is, so keeping the homes modest would be appreciated

Neighbors, sharing an update. Following an appeal, the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) will yet again consider the developer's requested zoning-code variances during a January 6th hearing (2pm). As of now, my understanding is that proposed designs are still taller than allowed by local code (41-foot rooftops vs. 38-foot allowed by code), requiring the ZBA to grant a variance. If you oppose this, two potential actions you can take to influence the outcome:
1.) Email the ZBA ([email protected]) to voice your opposition to this variance. If you do this, please reference the address and permit application # (332 W. Wildey, permit application #1053234) in your note.
2.) Join the ZBA meeting via Zoom at 2pm on January 6th. Doing so is complementary to any emailed opposition. Instructions for joining the ZBA Zoom hearings are detailed here: https://admin.phila.gov/media/20200918164157/ZBA-meeting-instructions-v3.pdf
Additionally, if interested learning more or discussing directly, please send me an email ([email protected]). Happy to share additional detail and/or jointly strategize how to make sure these new houses are built in a way that will make them a good fit for the block.
Thank you, and happy New Year,
Alex

Neighbors, thank you so much for your support of this petition!
As a quick update, after considering documentation we submitted on Monday (including this petition) and testimony during the Tuesday hearing, the Zoning Board of Adjustment voted to reject the developer's requested zoning-code exceptions. This is a welcome and exciting development.
That said, while plans were not approved as-is, we expect continued push by the developer as end of year (and end of full tax abatement) approaches. We will do our best to keep on top of the situation as it evolves and will report back.
Thank you again,
Alex
