A variety of housing at affordable price points is essential to creating equitable cities and communities. With less space to fill with "stuff" a project like this will give people a chance to focus on essential costs and save more money.

This is a great opportunity to make downtown a place for all types of working class people to live and work.

I support this project. Encouraging diversity, different income levels and housing for all is the very definition of a vital city.

All criticism aside, urban demographics show that this is a need to be addressed to house one person households. Good solution for downtown San Diego.

If you are going to be big city you have to learn to adapt to big city ways.

A couple of questions: 1) It states the project is only 5,000 sqft, but there are 42 units around 400, 42x400= 16,800 2) 5 units are low affordable, are the other 37 units affordable? If the other units are market rate, how does that stop the owner from increasing the rent on a higher price per sqft? 3) If there is no parking in the project, won't most people park in the street? Won't that hurt local business since most people traveling to little Italy will not be able to find a parking spot to go to dinner? 4) Is this project just another way to get around parking requirements for downtown projects? 5) should this project wait until we have self driving cars?
