The Captains exam scheduled for February of 2014 is unfairly expensive. It forces candidates to spend nearly $300 on books that should be provided by the VRFA. The checkout system allowing only one book at a time for two weeks is unfair and unacceptable. Some of the books used for the test have never been part of a curriculum for ODA or any Captains training in the past. Please add your name to this petition if you agree. The names on this list will not be shared with anyone except the Local 1352 E-board. Thank you.
Reaching this level of support confirms that I am not the only one drowning under these unreasonable book costs and testing hurdles. Seeing so many of you echo my frustration gives me real hope that we can finally force the VRFA to change this broken system.

NEVER seen these books in any training before. Total waste of time and cash. Let us actually prepare for the test properly.

300 dollars is a joke. we already work hard enough without having to pay for test materials out of our own pockets.

The checkout system is totally broken. Trying to study with one book at a time is impossible. Fix it.
