100+ girls getting morale and spiritual guidance in a fun way by enthusiastic staff is one of if not the biggest assets Broxburn parish church has. How the church have let the current situation develop and not acted rapidly to resolve it is beyond my understanding. For the sake of the current & future GB girls and the community the church needs to undo the damage it has done and recognise the exceptional leader they have in Alison by welcoming her back to lead the company. This needs to be done ASAP, it's already dragged on for 5 months and I fear further delay will make it impossible for the company to carry on. How can the church let a few individuals impact the great work the GB does with do many?

Sadden and shocked that the Girls Bridgade in Broxburn may come to an end where else can say they have a memberships of over 100 girl a true statement to Alison Turnbull’d commitment and dedication to this organisations

I love the fun, engaging environment. This company brings Christian faith alive and into the girls daily lives. It brings strong and positive friendships which gives the girls a great foundation for their lives.

As both a parent and an elder I am doubly disappointed and frustrated that this unnecessary situation has been allowed to drag on for so long, almost 4 months, and that neither the Kirk Session at Broxburn, GB Scotland or Presbytery have made any noticeable effort to resolve the situation or explain what has/is happening. I know the staff work as a team and with Alison as the captain/administrator/mum/toilet cleaner/hall tidier…. this allows the other officers to be free to focus on the leading and teaching of the young people. I believe there is very little appetite for the company to continue without Alison as captain and if the company were to stop running in Broxburn the great work that all the staff do would be a huge loss not only to the church but the local community.

I am really sad to hear of the turmoil 1st Broxburn is going through having been apart of it for 13 years of my life. As the only Christian youth group in the local area whose membership continues to rise year after year it would be a tragic loss for the community and church. As the former GB captain of Uphall company I know first hand the difference GB makes to the lives of girls. Broxburn GB has always been one of the most successful companies in West Lothian and it would be a travesty for this to stop.

I was a part of this company for the whole time I lived in broxburn and I can honestly say it helped me so much to both prepare me for adult life and to make some amazing friends for life. The captain was Alison Turnbull who is an amazing woman - such an inspiration and so dedicated to such a fantastic organisation.

I have three daughters who have all attended broxburn girls brigade as young girls and teenagers , they gained invaluable life skills and an understanding of the Christian faith,, and most of all had fun. Alison and her team are dedicated , caring , hardworking and are highly respected within the community , it would be a great loss to the young people and hugely disappointing if it disbanded.

In disbelief, with a heavy heart and with deep sadness I sign this petition. For many years a Friday meant GB's for myself as an officer and my daughter both of us benefitting greatly from the fun, fellowship and spirituality in the company ably led by Ali. At a time when numbers in GB nationally are declining Broxburn GB's continues to draw girls in and this, in my opinion, is entirely due to the leadership skills and dedication shown by the officers and captain. In the Bible in Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11 it says ' For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope for the future.' I urge the officers to hold on to this verse and assure them they are in the prayers of many at this time.

Broxburn Girls Brigade Company is a successful GB company which has gone from strength to strength under the stewardship of Ali Turnbull and her team of Officers who work extremely hard to provide the girls of the parish with fun, friendship and guidance every Friday. My daughters attend GB and would be devastated if it were to cease.

My daughter attended GBs from P1 to S6 and continued with her leadership with them. It would be very sad if it was to disband and I feel this would have a huge impact on the girls who attend and the wider community. As a whole.

My daughter has attended GB's from P1-S6 and is currently waiting to be signed off as an Officer.
I find it hard to comprehend that this situation has gotten to this stage and not been resolved. Broxburn GB's has in my opinion been run fantastically under the leadership of Alison Turnbull and her team which is reflected in the huge numbers of girls who attend week on week, something which would be the envy of many youth organizations nationally and locally.

The current Girls Brigade in Broxburn is a testament to the hard work and leadership of Alison Turnbull and her team of officers who have, for the last 28 years, maintained a strong, happy and devoted company when membership of youth organisations especially those linked with religious beliefs have been on decline elsewhere. The Girls Brigade, Broxburn Parish Church and the community of Broxburn cannot afford to lose such a team who's only focus has been the girls of Broxburn Girls Brigade.

I am saddened that we have had to sign a petition. Girls Brigade has played a major part in my life since the age of 5 and a member for over 40 years. Both my girls have also gone through the ranks. It is distressing as a mother to watch my daughter suffer with confusion disbelef and stress not knowing what is happening and trying to keep the moraland loyalty she has towards the girls within the company.

My 3 daughter’s all attended a Girls Brigade. I believe it to be an essential group and every effort should be taken to keep it going
