As tax-paying residents of Stamford, we are petitioning to block the proposal to build a 17-unit rental building at 1114 Hope.

It is our collective belief that the traffic on Hope Street is becoming more and more congested. That fact, coupled with the presence of the daycare center at this address and Springdale School directly across the street, makes this a terrible idea! Children are walking to and from school, either alone or often with parents who have “younger than school age children” in tow. People are driving to work, busses are delivering students and there is no reason whatsoever to put up another residence.

Springdale is a village - not a city looking to cram in more apartment buildings. There are plenty of buildings in the downtown area as well as thousands more apartments in Harbor Point. Please preserve our village and advise the petitioner to find another location!
