AM I A CITIZEN/PARDON MY VOTE

"Am I A Citizen?/Pardon My Vote" is a campaign focused on raising awareness for the restoration of full constitutional rights to individuals who have been justice-involved but have become productive members of society. The goal is to obtain 100,000 Presidential Pardons that would benefit justice-involved individuals and their families.
Every week, over 10,000 justice-involved individuals are released from America’s state and federal prisons, returning to the communities they once called home. Annually, this number exceeds 650,000 individuals. Unfortunately, studies show that nearly two-thirds of these justice-involved will likely be rearrested within three years of their release. This high rate of recidivism is largely a reflection of the rapid growth in the U.S. prison population over the past 30 years. Many of these individuals return to impoverished and disenfranchised neighborhoods, which often lack social support and suffer from persistently high crime rates. These communities face significant challenges as they work to reintegrate former justice-involved individuals, balancing the need for rehabilitation with the ongoing struggle for safety and stability.
Pardons by U.S. Presidents:
- **George W. Bush:** 200 pardons
- **Barack Obama:** 1927 pardons
- **Donald Trump:** 237 pardons
- **Joe Biden:** 11 pardons (as of August 2024)
On June 17, 2024, Maryland Governor Wes Moore pardoned 175,000 individuals in Maryland. https://governor.maryland.gov/news/press/pages/governor-moore-signs-nationally-historic-executive-order-pardoning-175000-maryland-cannabis-convictions.aspx
