Welcome Our Neighbours: Support the New Darul Khair Centre at 12662 Tenth Line.

We, the undersigned residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville, are writing to formally express our support for the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment for the Darul Khair Centre at 12662 Tenth Line.   

Stouffville is home to people from many backgrounds, cultures, and faiths. What makes our community special is not that we are all the same, but that we can live alongside one another with kindness, mutual respect, and a shared sense of belonging.

We are creating this petition to show our support for our Muslim neighbours and to express our agreement with the proposed new location for the Muslim place of worship. 

Our Muslim neighbours are part of Stouffville. They are our friends, colleagues, coaches, teachers, students, fellow parents, and fellow residents. They deserve the same dignity, consideration, and opportunity to practice their faith as people of every other religion.

We recognize that development projects can raise questions about traffic, parking, infrastructure, and neighbourhood planning. These matters deserve thoughtful discussion and responsible solutions. We believe the town will address practical planning considerations while also supporting a place of worship that serves the needs of our Muslim community. This has already been proven to work by the East Ridge Church which sits on the opposite side of Tenth line. 

We support the proposed new location and believe that welcoming this place of worship is an opportunity to demonstrate the inclusive, respectful, and compassionate community we all want Stouffville to be.
