Vulnerable people live in a society that has significant discrimination towards them, and an attitude of indifference. We we need to do more to help support Vulnerable Canadians, in so many ways, especially with personal safety, and unfortunately it looks like it needs to be legislated.

I have 3 ASD children, I’ve had them wonder and thankfully found them quickly. I couldn’t imagine them being gone for 4 days before an alert was sent, with a prompt alert he may have been found much sooner. I keep him and his family in my thoughts, hoping for a happy reunion.

I work with non-verbal autistic people and if they get lost it’s such a hard find. To other people they may present as a “weirdo” on the street, or even drunk to be honest and most people will just ignore them and walk away. If there was an outside alert then more people would understand to watch for the person and call right away instead of just watching them walk on
