Decision Makers: City Council of Evanston

I affirm that I am a resident of the 8th Ward in Evanston and am at least 18 years of age. I support the scaled-back neighborhood garden proposed by Evanston Grows at Elks Park and also support the future expansion to the full urban farm vision once Evanston's zoning allows for urban farms in open space districts. I believe this project will increase access to fresh, healthy food, create educational opportunities, and strengthen our community for years to come.

I support this farm project because I believe public spaces should be designed around what benefits the community as a whole. Evanston has an opportunity to make a decision that reflects what the majority of residents support. This urban farm will bring lasting educational, environmental, and community benefits, while still preserving plenty of green space for everyone to enjoy.

This farm will not reduce the usable area of the park and will feed countless people in need of food. We must become as self reliant as possible to grow our own food and care for each other. Evanston Grows is a treasure and having the farm in Elks Park will strengthen the community. I support it 100%.

A garden in S. Evanston is a wonderful idea. It will teach children where food comes from and what healthy food is like. I heartily support this

A garden is a wonderful use for this park. It will help people learn about how food grows, will provide food for the hungry and will encourage more birds and insects to come - something we all need.

Evanston Grows' gardens are beautiful and they provide the local community with free, organic, healthy produce. Food insecurity is a growing issue in our community.

Anything that helps Evanston neighbors get healthy food deserves our support

I live just south and west of the location and definitely support this much-needed project! The area is under-utilized and the need to grow and distribute food is real.
